Baerenreiter Celebrating 100 Years of Music
July 22nd, 2023
In the Autumn of 1923, Karl Votterle, the founder of Baerenreiter, produced the first music editions for the esteemed German publishing company. Initial publications were mostly folk song, choral and organ editions. After destruction during WWII, Baerenrenreiter regrouped with the start of the extensive German music encyclopedia MGG as well as numerous editions of scholarly-critical complete editions such as the “New Mozart Edition” and the “New Bach Edition” from which the “practical” or performing editions have been based on. To celebrate the anniversary year they are doing jubilee editions many of which are bestsellers from their catalogue – see below. And as a gift to musicians, music lovers, and Baerenreiter fans these are at great prices that we think you will love! Call us for more information and pricing.
