In this day of digital printing it’s great to hold a real published copy of hits like Kelly Clarkson’s with attractive pictures on the front. The Sassmannshaus Tradition , is “the household name for excellence in beginner violin, viola and cello methods in German-speaking countries.” Some of our customers have begun using the series with great success. It’s never too late or too soon to be thinking about school instrumental rentals. We rent violins, violas, cellos, string basses, brass instruments of all kinds, woodwinds including flutes with curved headjoints for the little guys, snare drums, and even keyboards. Most instruments are in stock but if not, we get regular deliveries from the company we work with, Menchey Music Services out of Hanover. All instruments are well maintained; many of them new. Everyone who works with us can help with sizing or give advice – we are all musicians. And the best news is that the instrument can be returned or traded for an alternative if that one doesn’t work out. Call for details about the rental program and prices 610-649-8842.

From time-to-time we have customers who want to sell their instruments for various reasons but mostly because the student has graduated or moved on to other things. Instead of letting the instruments waste away in their attics they smartly sell them and you benefit from the fair prices offered. Selmer AS300 Alto Sax $400 less than 2 years old sold with soft professional case and hard case as well. This is a great deal not to be missed. Come try it out!

Nice Yamaha Alto Sax YAS 62 around 6 or 7 years old now in stock. Though I am not a sax player everything I hear about the YAS 62 is good. It’s a great step up for a person who is ready to move from a student rental. Some even say this sax is the best. The seller wants $2000 but would be willing to negotiate. Come on over to see it – don’t forget your mouthpiece!

Bundy Alto Sax $200 for sale – pretty sure it is from 1946. Good starter sax with balanced action, good tone, and great hard case. Will need some work on the pads and a new mouthpiece but I’d buy it for my beginning student

Used Schreiber & Sohne Clarinet S&S59589 $150 or best offer – good wooden clarinet but needs an overhaul. Worth it though.

Full size student violin $200 with bow and case Carlo Robelli P-105 – surprised me when I played it – nice smooth, even tone. Condition is excellent but a few things to expect: the bow will need re-hairing and it will need new strings. Perfect violin for a beginner or someone who just wants to fiddle around. Great deal!

3/4 size cello – Englehardt student model complete with bow and case $300 - Sold as is. Needs new strings. Customer bought it for their granddaughter.

Our friend, Jeff, repairs brass and woodwind instruments. Though he is not in-house most repairs can be done in 3 to 4 weeks. We can also replace strings on most instruments for a small charge. And we are always happy to offer help and advice. Just ask!

For years we have resisted downloading music for many reasons mostly because the end product was not very good. Technology forges ahead and now we are able to provide you with decent copies of the latest singles, an oldie that your mother sang to put you to sleep, or the flute part to a band piece that went “missing”. And the best part is that it is legal – we pay a yearly membership fee with both Alfred’s Publishing and Hal Leonard to get access to their digital files. Though we still love the look of traditional music and the pictures of Lady Gaga on the covers, sometimes you need an audition piece today or a request for a wedding or funeral as soon as possible.
